Course Overview

This course gives learners an overview of small bore tubing systems including the hazards associated with working on SBT systems, how to correctly and safely disassemble, fault find and reassemble twin ferrule SBT fittings. The course is designed as part of the ECITB 4 stage code of practice and is classed as stage 1 training. Successful candidates can use their certificate to support progression toward competence.

Prerequisites

This training can be accessed by any trade group with or without prior knowledge of SBT systems and assemblies. Due to the nature of the work and the potentially hazardous environments, candidates must have industry recognised health and safety training such as MIST, CCNSG or be familiar with regulations such as the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Course Content

Delegates completing this training course will be able to;
- Health and safety in small bore tubing systems including step change in safety, hydrocarbon reduction, relevant policies and procedures

- Preparing the work area for SBT operations and tasks including isolations, venting/drainage, technical drawing/reference materials, corrosion issues, material specification, tools and equipment.

- Performing tasks on SBT assemblies including different manufacturers components, thread type, sealing type, plug and caps, instrumentation, support systems, foreign matter exclusion (FME) and fault finding.

- Reinstatement of the work area including reporting and documentation.

Target Audience

This 1 day ECITB accredited course is aimed at those working with small bore tubing systems requiring initial training, or those requiring their knowledge refreshed.

Certification

Upon completion of this course, successful candidates will receive a certificate from ECITB in SBT02 Disassemble, Fault Find and Reassemble – Twin Ferrule.
