Course Overview

This Level 2 Risk Assessment course is designed to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of the principles, legal context, and practical implementation of risk assessments in the workplace. The course focuses on legal responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Participants will learn how to identify hazards, evaluate risks, apply the ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) principle, and determine appropriate control measures.

Through detailed guidance on task-based risk assessment (TRA), hazard identification, team responsibilities, and use of the risk matrix, this course equips learners with the skills to effectively assess, document, and review workplace risks. Emphasis is also placed on the hierarchy of controls, residual risk assessment, and the importance of worksite visits and operational context.
